Tommaso Picciafuoco

Research Interests

• Catchment hydrology

• Infiltration processes
• Spatial variability analysis

Tommaso is a civil engineer with research interests focusing on infiltration processes, especially on understanding the variability of the parameters that control infiltration at both plot and small watershed scale. For his doctorate he is exploring the spatial variability of saturated hydraulic conductivity and is conducting his research in the Hydrological Open Air Laboratory (HOAL).

Key Facts

Tommaso obtained his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Perugia, Italy, in 2012. He then completed a Master of Science degree in Infrastructures in 2015 with a thesis on the hydraulic design of flood control facilities in mountain stream, the Montefiorello river, central Italy.
