Aleksandar Dadic

Research Interests

• Mathematical modeling and simulation of fluid flow
• Numerical methods for partial differential equations (PDEs)
• Scientific computing and high-performance computing

Whereas current simulation tools for flood prediction are primarily designed for fluvial floods, Aleksandar’s research focuses on developing a numerical model capable of accurately simulating pluvial floods and assessing the associated risks. His work is part of the project “Hydrologie Weinviertel”, contributing to improved and efficient flood risk management in the Weinviertel region. The developed methods aim to serve as a blueprint for other hydrologically similar regions in Austria.

Key Facts

Aleksandar obtained both his bachelor's degree and master's degree in Technical Mathematics from TU Wien. His studies focused on applied mathematics, with particular emphasis on numerical analysis and mathematical modeling. During his studies, Aleksandar was actively involved in the popular science initiative TUForMath for many years and worked as a student assistant in the workgroup Numerics of PDEs, where he also wrote his master's thesis in the field of adaptive finite element methods.
