Five doctoral programme students took to the stage on the 11 November at the Vienna Science Slam.
They each had six minutes to explain their research to an audience of 450. Using creative props to illustrate what they are doing, Linda Kuil, Mike Exner Kittridge, Mariette Vreugdenhil, Jose Salinas and Alex Chik created a buzz around their work!
Votes from the audience declared Alex Chik the winner - who will take part in the Austrian final in May 2015.
