Research Interests
• Karst spring discharge modelling
• Water quality modelling
• Explainable machine learning
• Graph theory and complex networks
Anna studied technical mathematics at TU Wien. Her diploma thesis involved modelling the interplay between blood pressure and blood flow in the human body using a combination of conceptual models. Currently, she is implementing deep learning models to forecast karst spring discharge. Further work includes the development of hybrid approaches, coupling conceptual and deep learning models, for predicting water quality and discharge.
Key Facts
Anna obtained a bachelor degree in technical mathematics from TU Wien. She continued her corresponding master studies with a focus on applied mathematics and modelling at the same university. She spent a semester abroad at Aarhus University, Denmark, where she took courses on complex networks and numerical programming. She wrote her master thesis about blood flow modelling at the Austrian Institute of Technology. In April 2021 Anna joined the Vienna Doctoral Programme. She will write her thesis on karst spring discharge and water quality modelling.
